Decorating our house

We have been talking about working on decorating our house, we have decided we are going to rip up the carpet in the living room and have wood flooring put in. We are also going to replace all of our furniture and when we do that I would like to get some different lamps for our end tables with some really cool lampshades. I would really like to take a lampshade and fix it up and design it myself, unless I find some that I really like. I think it would look really good in our living to have some lamps so that I won't have to keep the room so bright with the overhead light. It is going to be a long process to get the room fixed up the way we want it, but it will be worth it in the end.
