Hardwood Flooring?

My husband and I have been wanting to rip out our carpets and have hardwood floor put in. We have been trying to get advice about it and where to go for the best prices. We haven't gotten alot of advice about it yet. The questions we have are like should we do the whole house? Should we have it professionally done or is it feasible to do it ourselves? And where can we get the best deal on it? Can anyone share their stories or advice on getting this done with us so that we can make the best decision on it all?

Getting Energized?

Oh my I for some reason lately need some good suggestions for this. I am so tired here lately, but I am hoping that it will subside after I get used to the school year just starting and my work schedule change. But for now I will just have to depend on my diet dr. peppers and Crystal Light Energy mix, because I have no guts to try a real energy drink I am too afraid of what they might taste like. So anyone who reads this post tell me: What you do to get more energized and to make through the day without a nap?

First Day of School

Went off perfectly other than the four year old getting in my car covered in mud this afternoon, but hey I have learned thats what boys do. I was actually prepared for there to be tears this morning with Hal, but to my surprise he was cool with it all and told me to "get out of here," meaning the classroom this morning. Wesley acted of course like a little grown-up when left at the first grade this morning and looked at the kid in his class that was crying like he was crazy. I am really proud of both of them when they got into the car this afternoon they both boasted that they had good reports!! They did really good and I am proud of them.

Here are some pics:

Pretty smart of Target

I was looking at Target's weekly ad online this evening, because hey I am a sucker for a sale. Anyway on the last page of the ad they Coke products on sale, but with no price on them. And the reason I think it is so smart of them is because people will take their ads in places for example such as Wal-Mart and get them for Target's price because Wal-Mart does that. And in the past I regretfully have to say I worked at Wal-Mart a few years ago and they can't comp the price if there is not one listed in the paper, so people wanting the product will have to get it Target. Pretty smart of them I think because hey I prefer to shop at Target anyway. Anyone know where I go to beg for a SuperTarget in town???

Two days to go

Until the end of summer vacation. Well atleast this year will be my last first year of school. This year Wes will be going back to schooland Hall will start for the first time and I am just going to be sooo bored on my days off during the week without my Hal to keep me company. Oh well it will be ok I think I can definately find myself other things to do like for example blogging and working on my sites. However it is kind of exciting watching them because about a month ago they were just whatever about going back to school or starting school. Now they are actually excited about it. I can't wait and I will definately be posting some pics of the first day of school!

Demon Sheep?

Here is a little backstory my boys a while back recieved some stuffed animals that play "Jesus Loves Me" when you press the stomach, they got them about it Christmas I think from Grandma. Anyway in comes Porthos who loves to chew on stuffed animals (like most puppies and dogs do) well he gets one of these above said stuffed animals this particular one is a sheep, well in Porthos little world it is a possessed demon sheep. Because he is going to town on it trying to play with it, when all of a sudden "Jesus Loves Me" starts playing and he freaks. I don't think he has ever moved so fast so then he gets up on the couch watching the thing on the floor like it is going to eat him. And now he refuses to go near the sheep. I guess that is a good deterrent to keep a dog from chewing toys, just make sure it has a music box.

Weight Problems

I am not a person who normally focuses on my weight but there has to be a time when I have to. I am not fat by any means nor am I skinny, but I can just tell lately that I have put on some weight and that it is time to do something about it. I just don't know where I am going to find the will-power to do it. I know I need to, its just that dieting has never been easy for me, it is really hard for me to stick to. A friend of mine told me about a diet that I believe that I can do and stick to. So since I have my blog here I am also going to use it for daily updates to help hold myself accountable. I have decided that my start date will be Monday August 27th and as I see how the diet is going I will go ahead and post the details of it and a link to the website. My friend says that it has worked really well for her in the past so lets see how it works for me!

Heroes Season 1 on DVD

I watched every episode of this season when it came on TV now I can't wait to rewatch them all on DVD it does come out this Tuesday the 28th of August. So far as I have seen Best Buy is going to have the best price on it. Yep when I buy a new season or a movie on dvd I like to get the best price possible. And I also would advise anyone who hasn't watched this show to check it out, we were hooked with the first episode.

Met the teachers!

The kids and I along with Grandma went up to the school and met their teachers for this school year this evening, like I had mentioned in an earlier post. Anyway both of the teachers seemed really nice and I also heard some good things about them from Jason's Aunt whose three girls all went through this school in the last 10 years. After going up the boys both seemed more excited about going to school, and they were really well behaved so they are going to get to go swimming over at the same Aunt's house as mentioned above tommorow. I have even decided I would swim as well since I haven't been at all this summer.

Going to meet their teachers...

Tonight the kids and I are going up to the school to meet their teachers for 1st grade for Wesley and Pre-K for Hal. They seem really just like ok whatever with Hal being just a tad but excited about it. But me on the other hand am just always nervous when stuff like this goes on. I think they will be nice and the kids will do well this year so I will post later after we meet them.

Layout changes

When I came home today I checked my blog and my layout was all messed up, so I decided that I was going to change it temporarily to a regular blogger layout, that does look kind of cool. While I design my own layout. It is being a pretty cool learning experience while I work, so look forward to seeing, and there will be a post announcing it when I have it the way that I want it.

Okay so I have been slacking....

Last Friday I got the 3rd seaon of One Tree Hill on dvd and I just can't quit watching it when I have time, so my blogging has so happened to have taken a backseat to my t.v. watching. But it will be all good I only have 2 or maybe 3 discs to finish and I will back to blogging like crazy. And oh yeah until we get the first season of Heroes on dvd next week.

I don't know....

For some reason I just want everything to be perfect and ok in my life. It would just make me so happy if it were though. However I sit here and I often feel like everything isn't they way I think it is or I feel like I am being lied to. I don't know which it is and I wish that I knew. Like that there are too many tell tale signs in my face but I just can't take them heart because I have made mistakes like that before and made a huge mess of stuff. I just can't do that now I just can't afford to do that to my heart or put myself through something like that again. So I am just going to roll with and be cautious and not try to make a mess out of anything and just wait and see.

A moment to breathe!

Today was just a fun crazy day to me, because I got to shop and buy lots of school clothes and stuff for my boys. I started at around 9 a.m. this morning and didn't finish until nearly 10 p.m. it was fun, they had fun. They got smoothies and icees and food and all kinds of cute stuff (or atleast I say cute stuff, but to them it is just boy stuff.) And to top it off we made a trip home this afternoon to drop some of our stuff off and there was a message on my answering machine from work about a special redemption day for these points that we earn at work. And well I totally scored some gift cards which made shopping even better!! Woohoo they got alot of cute stuff from Target, Old Navy and just about anywhere else that you can imagine.

Woohoo new work schedule!!!

I have been fighting for months and months to go back to working mornings at work instead of until 8 at night. And well starting Monday I get my schedule change. I am so thrilled about it because I will finally have more time with my kids and will be able to pick them up from school and to take care of them. It is awesome because I get to work from 8-2 and get to drop them off and pick them up. And of course I only 4 days a week and you can't beat that, I don't think I ever want to work more than 4 days a week again!!!

Getting the house into shape!

My goal today and tommorow is to get my house back into shape. We have been so busy lately that it looks like a tornado hit it. So far the kitchen is looking about 85% better. I still need to mop and to finish the counters and the dishes. Other than the kitchen though the rest of the house doesn't look too bad. Now if only the dishes would magically be clean I would be pretty happy, because well dishes are my least favorite part of it all!

Been listing more on ebay!

I decided today after talking to my husband to list more stuff on ebay. All of the items listed though are video games or video game strategy guides. So if you want to see any that we have for sale check it out at Ebay stuff, to see what we have for sale up.

Playing Video games for Cash?

I just read a news story that talks about a UK based site that lets people pay money up front to play in deathmatches of games like Half-Life 2. And since you have to put money up front to play the winner of course gets the money after the site of course gets its cut. The site is Tournament.com and you have to be 18 years of age at least they even have users provide proof before they are allowed to participate. They of course are following the laws of certian states here in US and not allowing citizens of some states to participate because of state laws. I of course live in Texas and it does not appear to be on the list of no-no states. But I however suck at these types of games and am going to have to sit my hubby down at his PC and make me some cash. I am just kidding he would think I was nuts if I even suggested it.

Mommy you said....

I swear my child needs to stop listening to anything that I say unless it is about being safe or behaving or something along those lines. The other night both of my sons and I were laying down on the bed and I was playing The New Super Mario on Nintendo DS. Well I am not doing to well at it and I die and my oldes kid says very matter of factly and plainly "oh damnit" and I just look at him and say "What did you say?" and he matter of factly replied "but you said it wasn't that bad of a word." Well I do seem to recall this and well I can't get on to him and argue with his logic because he did remember correctly. Well I just decided that as long as he doesn't say anything like that in school or in front of grandma we will be cool!

Got the car....

We went and picked up Jason's car today. It is an Accord and pretty nice for a used car and it runs really well. And now that Jason is at work and my own car is finally just sitting in the driveway, I don't even have the slightest urge to leave the house. Maybe the boys and I will go get some Icecream later or something. Right now they are playing Super Paper Mario on the Wii and Hal is playing with his rock collection. I think we will sit down and watch Bridge to Terabithia here in a bit, it looks cute. I think that they will like it.

Premonition

I just had some relaxing time to myself and watched the movie Premonition with Sandra Bullock and Julian McMahon. I felt like it had a really good story even though the ending is kind of bittersweet. I would suggest that everyone check it out especially people who may be in a difficult or unsure situation with a relationship. One that is worth saving of course.

Jason's Car

Woot tommorow is the day, we will be buying Jason his own car so that when I have to go to work I won't have to have his mom take me and pick-me-up. I am so glad as much as I don't mind her doing us the favor it will just be easier for me if my work schedule changes or something like that happens. Because to be frank I hate to have to stand outside and wait. I like to be able and go out get in my car and go.

Working lots of hours!

I have been working alot of extra hours this week working 12 hour shifts both Sunday and Monday and a 10 hour shift today. So I haven't really been in the mood to post on my blogs which I know is something I should keep up with everyday. Oh well it will all be worth it in the end with Jason getting his own car and getting some bills taken care of. Will defintately post some of the things that have been going on when I feel more up to it and not as tired.
