Pre-k Hayride

At my younger sons school today we went on a hayrid this afternoon with this class. We had alot of fun even thought at first my boys was not too warmed up to the idea of the hayride. Finally though we had alot of fun and I even *gasp* let him take a few pictures with my digital camera which actually turned out really good for being taken by a 4 year old, he even took a good one of myself that I will post up when I get my camera from my car later.

Well we have heard of this happening to other peoples 360s and we would just hope that we would be spared. Well yesterday when my husband turned on the xbox 360 low and behold the thing wouldn't come on and it had that "red ring of death" that we had heard gamers cry about. So now we are seeing if having Microsoft fix it because supposedly warranties were extended because of this thing. Or my husband is going to luck out and the end of the month we will just go ahead and buy the Halo 3 Special Edition Xbox 360, I think he is rooting for the new one though. I think I am kind of too.

The joys of boys....hehe

I came home Friday afternoon to some missed calls from Miss Jessica, so of course I called her back and she told me that most of our buds from work were meeting at a restraunt and did I want to come. So I said sure, and we all came with some of us with kids in tow. Well since Jason was at work it was just me, Wes and Hal. Well I am going to cry and get into the fetal position now, "I don't ever wanna do that again." I love my boys but when they get around a group of people especially people that they have just met they go kind of err wild. For the most part they were good but they just would not quit talking to everybody. However I will have to add that Chrissy's baby was, well she is two, is just the most precious little girl ever, she was so sweet. And Jessica's Jacob was adorable himself.

I was just reading an article about the cookbook "Deceptively Delicious" by Jessica Seinfeld and how it was very similar to another cookbook. I mean who is to say that she actually plagiarized from the other author Missy Chase Lapine. But who in the world thinks of putting Sweet Potatoes in Grilled Cheese? That just sounds weird and just gross. I can't even hardly believe the either Seinfeld or Lapine thought let alone both of them did. Maybe I am just not creative enough or I am just lucky that both of my kids are the least picky eaters and I don't have to "sneak" them their vegetables.

People Search

I love to think of people who are famous or people that I used to be friends with and just search their names, just to see what they may be up to now. Now Spock Search lets you do people search for free. With it you can members can create tags about themselves or anyone else or they can be made by other members. People can also voice their opinions about you or any of the other by voting for or against a tag even their pictures as well.



Right now because I have been watching a lot of America's Next Top Model I did a Spock Search on it. I was hoping for more results for Cycle 9 but came up with lots of in general results for all of the past Cycles. It was pretty cool because it came up with a lot of results of people who were on the show in the past but also came up with some regular people as well, which was neat too.

However I am really enjoying Cycle 9 and was actually glad last night when Ebony left the show. That being said I am really rooting for Heather to win, especially since she blew them away last night and didn't even take a profile shot. That being said I also really like Sarah, Lisa, and Jenah as well. Some of the others though I just can't figure out what they see in them. I really can't wait for them to go to their international destination because that was really fun during the last Cycle which was actually my first Cycle to watch. But I am not sure how it is going to work with the green theme that they have going on with the fact that they are having all of these issues over China right now with cleaning of for the Olympics that are coming up. But to me some of the girls of this Cycle do blow some of the others from past Cycles out of the water with their photos, especially seeing some of those on the search results on Spock Search.

Halloween next week and....

We have yet to pick out costumes or even bought them. My younger child says he wants to be Superman so that should be easy enough. My older child however claims he wants to be Master Chief from Halo 3, where in the world am I going to find a Master Chief costume? So instead of Master Chief I think I will be working on talking him into something else.

GreenRoad a new company in Silicon Valley has developed a software that goes in the car that gathers information about the driving and conditions and uploads the information to a website that lets the user see where they need to improve their driving. I think this is really neat because the accident rates of the people that have used it have been lowered by 54% it is mostly used for businesses, fleet drivers, and insurance companies that insure teenage drivers. Maybe I should try this out because honestly even though I haven't had an accident in quite a few years I know that I definately have some room for improvement.

People I swear

Because of the nature of my work sometimes I get to deal with people who don't like to get credit card offers in the mail, fine whatever why don't they call the number on the bottom of the offer for the national opt out that is provided by the government. Well anyway this lady calls today mad because she recieved a few offers in the mail and quote "would never do business with a company that is so wasteful with natural resources." ugh if I hadn't been out of it on cold medicine I would have happily replied that all of our offers are printed on recycled paper (which they are) but oh well I was too tired to care about that. However she does tell me at the end of the call that she "hopes I find a new job" well lady I just want you to know that I really like my job and that I am definately a more happy person than you appear to be.

30 Days of Night

We saw the trailer for this movie a while back and it looks really scary and I can't wait to see it, since it came out this weekend. The comics that 30 Days of Night are based also called 30 Days of Night also look really cool from the ones I have flipped through at the local comic store. I think after we go so see this movie that we will be getting some of them. But until then I can't wait to see it and I hope it is as scary as it looks. Will update when I see it.

My car Insurance

I used to sell insurance which was a primarily an accident insurance policy that I sold. But I was licensed in more than one type that also included life insurance. While those types including health is what I am most experience in. I can't but help to think that the rates that I have on my husbands and my car insurance is just awesome. I think it comes from the fact that we both haven't had any accidents or tickets in a many number of years and so it has gotten us a great low rate. However our home insurance I am not completely on the up and up. It seems really reasonable but it is something that comes straight out of mortgage payments so we don't really notice the cost of it too much. However my thoughts on getting the lowest prices on car insurance in particular is just to be a responsible driver.

When I was a kid

My 4 year old son and I sat on the backporch earlier blowing bubbles and he looks at me and says "When I was a kid, I did it like this." I couldn't help but laugh and tell him that he was a kid. Well it was funny so for the rest of time we were out there he corrected it to when he was a baby. I just can't but to smile at these moments because to me he is still a baby and probably always will be to me.

Weather change

Weather changes are not fun at all, the weather has it seemed gotten coldish over night and now I have a cold. And I feel yucky, I hate feeling sick and just wish that it would go away. Well the best part of it is though is that it isn't too cold that we have to have the heater on but we don't have to run the A/C so we are saving on our electricity bill. That will kind of make up for it some.

All types of Loans

In this day and age I think the ease in which someone can get a loan can often be different from person to person and even financial institution to instition. Sometimes it is too easy for some people to get a loan especially when they have no ability to pay it back or they don't even thouroughly check because they don't give the right amount of income that they actually have. I have even watched college students with no income get approved for credit card loans up to $30,000 so yeah it isn't always checked real carefully if they can be paid back or not. personally have had several differnt types of loans from unsecured to secured loans, however they have all been personal loans. An option for people with bad credit could be a secured homeowner loan using a home has collateral to pay back the loan, I have never done this but if it were some kind of emergency then it might be a route that my husband and I would have to take.

Rambo - lol

My husband just talked me into watching over the last two nights not one but all three of the Rambo movies. They weren't as bad as I imagined them to be but oh my were they kind of amusing in a "not funny sort of way" but "they were made 20 plus years ago sort of way." Now since we watched all of those I wonder if he is going to make me watch all of the Rocky movies too. I still maintain however that Demolotion Man is my favorite Stallone movie because Wesley Snipes is funny as freaking h#$@ in it.

Going dizzy here...

The last two days at work have been crazy and just so so busy. We could hardly breathe in between the calls we have been taking. However some frustration has been going on with the system where we will be in the middle of a call and the system just drops the call. It is enough to make you scream, but oh well they are supposed to be fixing it and hopefully it will be soon because normally when it drops it seems like we are in the middle of good call.

Poor sick baby.

For some reason over the last couple of months my poor little boy has been getting sick off and on with fever and every now and then vomiting. We haven't taken him to the doctor yet because it only ever lasts about 24 hours just like a little bug. But it is starting to bug me because it has been happening too much though. He came over with the same stuff this morning and afternoon, right now he is sleeping but if it keeps on doing this we will be at the doctors office Monday morning.

Finally feeling like fall

I live in Texas so it is always hot here more than it is cool. And the last week or so the temperature has finally started going down where you don't have to run the air conditioner all of the time and you can go out with out sweating. This is always a nice time of year because you don't have to wear coats or jackets yet but you don't have to stay inside either. This actually does give some hope that it may actually feel like winter this year in December instead of last year when we could go in short sleeves like it wasn't even cool outside.

Holidays just around the corner

The upcoming Holidays are going to be a big subject for me in the upcoming months because they are just so much fun for me and my family. This year my husband either wants a new iPod or a PSP because there are quite a few games out that he wants for one. My children on the other hand are also interested in stuff like videogames and items of that nature Wesley I know really wants the new Legend of Zelda game for the Nintendo DS. My poor husband

He went to the doctor yesterday, which he never does and got put on some new medicine. And now he just feels horrible, he is so tired and feels sick. I hope this side effect will wear off soon. So that it will work for him. And another great thing about it is he got some medicine for his foot that has been hurting him for a few weeks which hopefully it will help that as well. Well atleast he is taking a vacation day Monday and he will get some extra rest with his four day weekend.

Air guns and BB guns

My husband and I are both very much against owning a real gun but have often thought about getting a BB gun or air gun to have around. For what I don't know but hey there are sometimes wild animals our about and there is no telling what could be out with the noises we here sometimes. If I had one I would one want one that looked sort of like a real gun from a distance but one that you would know from holding it. At PyramydAir they have BB guns, air guns, airsoft guns and blank guns.
If I had one I really like the Marksman 2000, and it is mostly just because I like the way that it looks, but is also really lightweight, fastloading, and shoots either pellets or darts. The kids are gone to spend the night at grandmas and here I am at a loss of what to write about. However I did see something interesting on my local newspapers website about a cat with a crucifix in its fur. I am not even going to post a link to it because honestly I don't find the story newsworth or even see how it really looks like a crucifix in the fur it just looks like a miscoloration or like they took a clorox bleach pen and bleched her hair. I just feel sorry for the poor baby kitten hopefully it will get taken care of though.

Scrapbooking storage

A friend was talking to me tonight about going to a crop this month, and it was funny that she brought it up. Because I had been thinking about getting back into scrapbooking and thinking of storage solutions for all of the stuff that I have. Like my paper, ribbon, stamps, adhesives and assortment of other embellishments. I don't have a whole lot of space but I need something that will look neat and have a good surface to work on.

Christmast not too far off

Wow! It seems like time just passes by so fast as they boys grow up. And now it is almost Christmas time again and I am not sure what we are going to do yet. I already have a few ideas for Jason which he is going to love. The boys on the other hand I am not sure about just yet. I know for Wes we will definately be getting the Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass game for his DS, what else for him I am not sure. Hal on the other hand is tricky because he either seems too old or too young for the stuff that we think of. Oh well I still have some time to think about it.

For now I gotta figure out Halloween costumes and if I will have a new stove in time for Thanksgiving dinner.

Report Card today!!!!

The first report cards of the year came out today and I can't speak enough about how proud I was of my older childs report card. He had all E+ in his subjects and on the number grades that she gave out for tests he had all A's on those as well. Hal's on the other hand is a work in progress. We have had a trying first few weeks of school and their are things that we are still working on with mostly in his conduct areas. In the academic stuff though he was doing really well. So we shall see how they both progress as the year goes on.

Reading at the school

Last week Wes's teacher sent home a note asking when we could volunteer for reading. I signed the note and said sure that I would go on Thursdays or Fridays. Well she called me over the weekend asking me if I could come up and I said sure and then I got all nervous about it the last few days thinking I would have to ready in front of his class. Well I was very relieved when I found out that they would be reading their reading books to me individually. So in the end it went really well and I got to help some of the kids in Wes's class with reading.

The most HORRIBLE movie ever!

My husband and I just finished watching the movie Bloodrayne 2, and lets just say unless its on TV and your extremely bored, or you just have no choice about it. Don't waste your time on this one. The video games that this movie were very LOOSELY based on were really good and fun, and the first movie was in even ok. But I for the life of me can't figure out when they are going to stop letting Uwe Boll stop directing movies. He has directed quite a few movies based on video games and have literally ruined them all. If you had to have a license to direct movies he should have his revoked along time ago!!!! In the meanwhile watch "Knocked Up," it was funny as h#$@. I will write about it later.

Tired isn't the word for it

This morning when I went to work I couldn't hardly stay awake. I leaned back in my chair with my hoodie on covering my head and cat-napped in between calls. Which probably made it worse. I was surprised the people that called me could understand what I was saying because I thought I sounded like a drunk person. Oh well I made it through the day chugging diet dr pepper and actually did really well at work today, I just kind of find it amusing that now that I am home that I am wide awake! I am just going to say no more waking up and playing Halo 3 with Jason when he gets home for work, doing that is kicking my rear.

School Nurse called twice this week

Kind of strange to start the week off with a call from the school nurse and then actually finish the school week off with another call from her. Monday she called because my younger son made a little girl mad and so she bit him. She didn't break then skin, so I am like ok he will be fine. Maybe he will learn to leave the little girl alone.

Friday I get another call from her and I am thinking great what has happened now. But the call was actually for my older son. She said that he failed his vision test not once but twice. I was like ok, thank you for letting me know as soon as I get off the phone I will schedule him an appointment with the eye doctor. I kind of feel like that call would have been a matter of time. Because well everyone in our families wear glasses including Jason and I am supposed to. Well I got the appointment made and I think if he has to get glasses he will be the cutest ever in glasses.

Right now because we have a mortgage we are required to have home insurance which we automatically pay with our house payment every month. However I think beyond that, that it is very important to have home insurance because if any of number of things that can happen. Like in the even of a fire, break-in or a natural disaster like a hurricaine. Another reason to have it is with all of todays lawsuits it is good to have it if someone gets hurt on your property, because people have even been sued for someone getting that didn't even have permission to be on the property. For you protectioin and piece of mind it is important to make sure that it is place.

Cut my hair off!

I went out this afternoon and did something crazy and cut my hair off, it is now above my chin. I hope I can get it to style the way that I would like it to tommorow though, I will post a pic of it tommorow.

update: No picture yet and it isn't doing exactly what I would like it do. It still kind of has a mind of its own. All I have ever wanted it to do was fall flat straight and not be frizzy. Is that too much to ask? :P Oh well I will figure it out.

But no idea where to start or if I even want to. I feel like I have kind of gotten behind the last few days and I have no idea how. The last few days have been pretty good but kind of blurry like. Ah well it is all good, hopefully Saturday we can spend it lying around being lazy. And watch movies we have tons of movies that we need to watch but haven't yet. For example we have gotten Knocked Up and some other older movies that were on sale for like around 4 dollars recently if I remember right we got Mission Impossible III, Elizabethtown and Star Trek Nemesis. Now if I only I could not be so lazy!

First Gay kiss on Daytime TV

On daytime soap As The World Turns they recently had the first gay kiss on daytime TV between Noah and Luke. While I think it is exciting that a soap has stepped out there, I had just thought that it had already been done before. I remember watching this soap regularly as a kid and that is just something that would not have been on back then but definitely kudos to ATWT for putting this on TV.

I don't understand

I have been reading at Britney Spears and her child custody problems for months now. I just don't understand how Spears can act the way she does and not want to take care of her precious boys. If she had half a brain she could give her kids a wonderful life full amazing experience that most of us only dream of giving our children. Hopefully Federline will keep stepping up and give the kids the care they need.

Needing a new wall clock

With all of the decorating and fixing up that we have going on in our house something that I will definately be needing to get is soom new wall clocks , we will need one for our living room and possibly the kitchen. The one I had previously was a dark brown one but we no longer have that one because it didn't match the look we are going for in our living room. I really like this Seth Thomas Wall Clock it is silver and white with black hands and numbers. It will fit into our room because it matches our T.V and surrond system speakers that we have up. And whats cool about it is that it is an atomic clock and I won't have to remember to set it. We have those everywhere at work and they are really neat to have around.

There are quite a few interesting and neat clocks but maybe I should get an Interior decorator or clock shopper to find the perfect match for my home and decor. It would be a great idea because it would be somebody trained in decorating where as I personally am not always the best at making such items match. Whichever choice I make when I do purchase a clock the clock I want, I would like for it to be a long term decision that I am happy with.

Can you get anymore frustrated?

We paid for Jason's car 2 months ago now and they guy we bought it from still hasn't give us the title. He keeps saying that he was is waiting for it in the mail, but come on when he started selling the car it would have been smart to get all of that lined up and ready for to go for whenever it sold. But no we are still waiting and it is getting frustrating, atleat we do have the reciept with his signature in case anything happens.
Also another frustrating that at this time I can't remember if I wrote about it or not is the tire that went flat while Jason was on his lunch break Thursday night. Well we took the tire to be fixed and they fixed it, well we thought they did. We walked outside Monday and that tire was already flat again. Well we took it back and they said that the rim was bent. And this is one of those "oh great" moments because apprently these certian rims cost $200 each. So not quite sure what we are going to do about this right now. Hopefully something will come through.

Personal Loans

In my life I have had to use loans for a variety of different reasons and had a few different types. I have even once gotten a Pay Day Loan when I needed to get a billed paid that just couldn't wait it helped because we were short on money at the time and I had to get the electricity paid. They can really help when you need a loan quick and only needed it for a short time. However the type of loans next to my credit cards that I have used the most are auto loans I can think of atleast three different ones that I have in my whole eleven years of driving experience.

Right now at this point in our lives we are considering getting a personal loan for us to start working on things that we want to do with our house that we are just not able to do all at one time. It will help us to get the work done that we need and purchase the furniture and assecories that we want to have in the rooms that we want to do. That way we can have our home the way we have been dreaming of having it.

I just don't get it...

I was reading an article on yahoo! music today about who will sell more albums this week Bruce Springsteen or Soulja Boy. While I have never heard of Soulja Boy, and I don't listen to Bruce Springsteen other than what I occasionally here on the radio. I just don't see how they can compare the two, Springsteen has been around since before I was born (I think so anyway, or maybe when I was a young kid.) and I don't think the other will be around on the music scene long enough to make a lasting impression before the next fad comes out. I guess I just don't get the comparisons or maybe its to get the people comment on yahoo all stirred up, that is all it seems to be in the end.

New bedsheets

Since we have painted our bedroom the red and black that it is right now we have yet to get bedsheets that match. Right now it is my mission to get some bedsheets that will match our room a really neat possiblilty for us would be natural bedding since we are getting into having natural stuff around us and our kids. At DaxStores they have almost any kind of organic bedding that you could imagine cotton, flannel and even wool. They have the blankets, sheets, pillow cases and comforters. Now to find the ones that will either match our shade of red or just plain black ones possibly would be a perfect fit for us.

Halloween Decorating

This evening I pulled out all of the stuff that I have for halloween decorations which isn't much but is a start at least. So far I have some light up pumpkins around the living room and a black cat table cloth on the dinner table with a pumpking on top of it as a center piece. Out side we are planning on making the front lawn a graveyard and I have put a strand of jack 'o lantern lights on the bench on the porch and little kids rocking chair beside it. I think I am also going to get some halloween material that will match the table cloth and have my mother in law make some curtians for my kitchen. I told my husband that it is going to be my thing for now on to decorate our house for everything. So this should get really interesting.
