No sleeping for me!

I stayed up late baking and set my alarm for 4 a.m. to get the turkey in the oven.  Well I got that taken care of and it is baking, and smells quite nicely I might add.  But as hard as I try I just cannot get back to sleep,  it is 6:40 no where near the time I usually get up, well ok sometimes I do to get the boys ready for school but the husband works late at night so he is usually up to do that so I don’t have to.

Now I sit here because when I get into bed I just lay there.  And now one of the boys are already awake and I can’t just leave him to his own devices he is 7 and there is pie in the kitchen he has been looking at it since last night, that wouldn’t be a very trustworthy combination.

The moral of this rant is I hate insomnia and I suffer from it often, wish me luck to get past this.

And more lovely Thanksgiving updates to come!

Again Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving for us this year is going to be a quiet affair, well as quiet as you can get with a 5 and 7 year old.  We have decided that we were just going to be here in our own home just the 4 of us this year.  I think it will go off fairly well as long as I don’t vomit about pulling out the bag of stuff out of the turkey, I usually make Jason do it, for my sake let’s hope he is awake when I partake this endeavor.

Our checklist for this year is:

  • Turkey – of course
  • Ham with pineapples of course – extra good
  • Stuffing – oldie but of course its not Thanksgiving with out, and no I don’t do in bird(ick!)
  • Various Veggies such as corn on the cob, salad, baked beans, and mashed potatoes
  • Cranberry Sauce – can’t forget it, my children would be very upset if I did
  • Rolls                                                                                                                                                     I think that is about it for the dinner and then of course I can’t forget the desert of Apple, Cherry, Pumpkin and of course my personal favorite Butterfinger Ice Cream Pie.Wow we are going to be stuffed and have tons left overs it sounds like, I can’t wait now if only I can get rid of this insomnia, I could sleep until its time to cook.

I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving!!!!

  • Twilight

Maybe I am kind of old to get on the bandwagon seeing as it is mostly directed to teenagers.  But I recently read the book after watching the movie trailer and honestly enjoyed, I really am a sucker for any kind of romance story and the fact that there are vampires is just an added bonus to me.  So now I have to get my hands on the other three books and read those as well.

But the point in writing about it today is because the movie just came out this weekend and Jason and I went to watch it Saturday.  I have to say that I actually liked it quite a bit and they didn’t butcher the story from the first book too bad like so many other books to movies out there.   My husband didn’t like though but in all fairness I didn’t expect him, h is very picky about the movies he likes and those tend to be more of the realm of sci-fi and any kind of romance is purely optional.  I do think they did a good job casting the film especially Edward, Rob Pattinson is definitely hot, however after watching Peter Facinelli back when I was teenager in “Can’t Hardly Wait” I just don’t think the blonde hair suits him though he did a good job in the role of Carlisle.   I can’t wait to see if they make films of the other three books, hopefully they will.

We also picked up the soundtrack for it a few weeks ago when it came out and I absolutely loved the two new Paramore songs on it “Decode” and “I Caught Myself”.  But I have discovered that I like anything by them but those were my favorite songs on the soundtrack.  Here is the video for “Decode”
