Have you ever checked your account and had a mystery charge from Apple and you knew you hadn’t went on an In-App buying or music buying binge? Well I have, and it sucks. My son had been playing games on my iPhone apps and started making In-App purchases! I mean seriously he bought like every Transformer on a Transformers App. No, I am not kidding.
Well since there was nothing I could do about it, and didn’t even think of the possibility of my son shopping with my phone. For some reason I thought it would ask for the iTunes password for any kind of purchase. So to keep it from happening again I decided to dig around on my phone and see if I could block In-App purchases.
And I did. And it very easy to do.
(the screen shots show the different screens to go to.)
Well here is what you can do to make sure you do not have any surprise In-App purchases on your iPhone.
- From the iPhone Home Screen go into the Settings.
- In settings click to go into General .
- After you get into the General Screen scroll down to Restrictions.
- And finally scroll down on the Restrictions screen to Allowed Content and then slide to turn off In-App purchases.
See so easy to make your iPhone safe from those surprise In-App Purchases.
I know I would rather use my money to buy an awesome new case for my iPhone 4!

Thanks for the tip! I’m off to check my phone now!
I am so glad that Kelly Stumbled this to me…. my little one was doing all kinds of crazy things on my phone the other day!! I would not be surprised if she bought stuff!! Definitely gonna share this post!!!
For months I had mysterious purchases and no clue where they came from. I finally realized it was my 4 year old and in app purchases so I took the credit card off my account. Just last month I realized the block feature and LOVE it.
