I am now on my second month of the California Wine Club and I am really liking receiving a shipment of different wines in the mail. I enjoy how it takes the guess work out of picking out what wines to buy, which honestly I am never good at and always just end up buying the same kind of wine every time. For example this month came with Castoro Cellars 2010 Paso Robles Gewurztraminer and Castoro Cellars 2010 “Blind Faith” Paso Robles Pinot Noir which are two kinds of wine that I have never tried before.
The two wines this month were also another pleasant surprise and I really enjoyed the taste of them both.
Also with every shipment of wine with the California Wine Club comes their Uncorked magazine that tells all about the wines that are in the shipment and the winery’s that they come from and even a history of the winery. Really neat information. And this month there was even a nice feature about Thanksgiving and what wines would be good to serve with Thanksgiving dinner. For example some great options for Thanksgiving could be Pinot Grigio or Zinfandel.
I really can’t wait to see what comes in with next months shipment and try to figure out what kind of food to serve with the wine or maybe what I can cook with the wine!
