Selling Old Toys

With every holiday and birthday that rolls around my kids both get more and more toys. And while with my older son it is easy for him to let go of things that he no longer needs my younger son is a completely different story. He likes to try to hang on to everything he owns and has even joked around about becoming a hoarder. Yeah let’s not really go there, please son.

I think he would really like to be a lego hoarder specifically.

So over the years with my youngest son I have had to develop a strategy for displacing his toy overflow. For example I have convinced them to pack the ones in good shape up to sell or if it is an old video game we trade them in to get newer ones. Both of the boys are wanting a WiiU soon and I think we will Sell Wii to make up for some of the cost.

And if you have a child like mine who has a hard time letting go of old toys you can always try to clean our broken ones or ones that are not played with when the child is at school. I know, I know totally wrong but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. And with all of the toys you sell using a service like Music Magpie you can buy something small to make up for it. Or even put the money in savings for your child.

That way your kid is happy and you don’t have a potential bad reality TV episode on your hands. And believe me if your child is like mine he has thought of different ways to make is TV debut through reality TV.

But hopefully you can guys can clean out old electronics and toys with more easy than myself.

Comments

  1. I can’t ever sell anything, especially toys.

  2. Letting them watch toy story also doesn’t help. My son still believes toys are loyal to their owners :)
