Taking the Brave Woman Pledge #BraveWoman #CBias

Most of us have probably known a Brave Woman who fought against domestic violence and came out no longer a victim. I know I have. A brave woman is a woman who is strong and is able to get away from domestic violence and have a new life. At least in my mind it is.

The grassroots movement www.BraveWoman.org goal is to shift personal and public perception of women facing domestic violence situations from a victim mentality to one of courage and strength. They are doing this by having:

OUR SHARED VISION is that every woman and child will have the supportive resources they need to live without fear in their homes and see themselves as courageous victors, finally free from family violence.

I want to do what I can to support women and kids affected by the acts of domestic violence to be stronger and to overcome the fear and obstacles placed before them by getting rid of the victim mentality. We have to show them that there are people there for them and there is help out there for them to be strong and brave to get on with their lives to be a Brave Woman.
